Prof. Jurgen Fütterer presented his inaugural lecture

On 3 July 2025, Prof. Jurgen J. Fütterer provided his inaugural lecture as Chair of Image-Guided Oncological Interventions. During his inaugural lecture, titled "Precisie in Beeld: Minimaal Invasieve Oncologische Interventies", he emphasized the transformative potential of advanced imaging in enabling precise, minimally invasive cancer treatments. Delivered in the Aula of Radboud University, the speech highlighted how imaging technologies—combined with artificial intelligence and multidisciplinary collaboration—can significantly improve diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic outcomes in oncology.

Prof. Fütterer, an internationally recognized expert in prostate MRI and interventional radiology, brings a prolific academic background, with over 300 publications and more than 16,000 citations. In his address, he outlined a forward-looking vision for strengthening Radboudumc’s leadership in image-guided interventions through innovation, education, and integration of new technologies. The ceremony, attended by colleagues, students, and clinical partners, marked a milestone in Radboudumc’s commitment to precision medicine and patient-centered cancer care.
