Joey Roosen studied Medicine at the Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2019 he started his PhD project at the Department of Medical Imaging of the Radboud University Medical Center Nijmegen. During his PhD, he worked towards an MRI-guided approach to transarterial radioembolization (TARE) with holmium-166 microspheres, under supervision of Jurgen Fütterer and Frank Nijsen. He defended his thesis in 2022. Currently, he is employed as a radiology resident, and remains connected to the MAGIC group as a post doc (0.2 fte). His current research focuses on further evaluation of MRI-guided holmium-166 TARE, and other TARE-related projects.
