Kristian Overduin is Technical Physician and Assistant Professor in Interventional Oncology in the MAGIC group at Radboudumc. His research focuses on the development and validation of imaging-based endpoints for minimally-invasive oncology treatments. Image-guided treatments provide new treatment strategies, offering patient-specific strategies in precision medicine, resulting in fewer side-effects, and shorter hospitalization. As imaging-based endpoints are crucial for predicting treatment success and are most effective in the intra-operative setting, he is exploring AI-driven intra-operative image analysis approaches to assess these endpoints in real time.

Kristian has a background in Technical Medicine at University of Twente and obtained his PhD on MRI-guided interventions for diagnosis and focal treatment of prostate cancer at Radboudumc in 2017. Thereafter, he specialized as a clinical fellow in image-guided oncologic interventions at the department of Medical Imaging, Radboudumc. In 2025, he was appointed assistant professor in the Radboudumc Talent Track.
