Omar Hussein studied Medicine at the University of Mosul, College of Medicine in Iraq, followed by a Research Master in Neuroscience at Erasmus MC Rotterdam. In October 2025, he started as a researcher at the Radiology department of Radboud university medical center (Radboudumc). His research, a collaboration between Radboudumc and Sono-coat, focuses on the precise tip localization of needles in MRI using Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles (SPIONs). He is supervised by Jurgen Fütterer.
