People of Magic

Wyger Brink
Wyger Brink is assistant professor in interventional MRI at the Multi-Modality Medical Imaging group at the University of Twente, and at the Department of Medical Imaging, Radboudumc. With a background in Electrical Engineering he has received his doctoral degree in MRI technology at the Leiden University, which lead to several open-source software tools, commercialization of a quality assurance phantom and CE-certified medical devices for correcting image artifacts in high-field MRI. As a VENI laureate, he developed software algorithms to enable personalized safety margins in MRI. His research interests include improving the efficiency and interactivity of MRI to enable real-time guidance of interventional procedures.
